This 1906 California cookbook, compiled by the Ladies of San Rafael of the First Presbyterian Church, includes recipes for breads and soups, fish and meats, vegetables and salads, and desserts galore. Sprinkled throughout are ads placed by San Rafael and Marin County businesses including the San Rafael Skating Rink (ten cents to skate in the morning and afternoon, fifteen cents to skate in the evenings); Edward J. Graham, Practical Horseshoer (Road Horses a Specialty); and the Grand Central Hotel (Conducted in First-class Style).
